2. And the U.S. lucked out. In Japan, it's called "Bare Knuckle," which sounds like what it'd be called here. Here, it's called "Streets of Rage," which sounds like what it'd be called back east. "Streets of Rage" is way cooler than "Bare Knuckle."

I love how dynasty warriors gets a bad rep for repetitiveness and only pressing one button when older beatem ups were much worse about this yet fondly remembered.

2 and 3 equally.
SoR3 doesn't get enough credit. More moves per character, special attacks with weapons, multiple endings, and insane difficulty (I love tough games). Of course, you can now play as Shiva, who became my main (formerly Skate) after I learned of the code. Though the American localization had a totally different story, I enjoyed it nonetheless. --- When it is obvious that the goals cannot be reached, don't adjust the goals, adjust the action steps. - Confucius ... Streets of Rage 2 is one of my all-time faves. SoR3 grew on me a lot though, almost on the same level, but its difficulty can be absurd sometimes. Not sure why the changed the difficulty so much with the localization. SoR3 has an awesome soundtrack too that is often overlooked and compared to the first 2 unfairly.
