You can't avoid assholes at the theater, but then it becomes an inconvenience to leave and miss parts of the movie to report it. It's a lose-lose situation.

Like I went today, this person coughed very loudly like twice a minute and it was very nasty sounding. Stay home, nobody wants to hear that. They then proceeded to elevate their annoyance level by talking loudly during the trailers and at some points during the movie.

when it becomes a distraction they absolutely should. Go to the bathroom and cough your lung out, or lose some weight, or stop smoking.

Probably why theater attendance is going down, people don't want to pay money to have the "pleasure" of being interrupted by other people.

every now and then during the trailers there will be little annoyances here and there and I think to myself "aw fuck, today's the day the experience is gonna suck" but then everyone quiets down during the film itself

man you're lucky then, sometimes I get a quiet movie. Most of the time it's just the worst kind of people. Like when I saw Jumanji, the people next to me literally talked through the whole movie. This is why I only like to go to the theater now either right after work on a weekday, or the very first showing of the day on the weekend as it cuts down the bad egg ratio.

i like going to movies after they have been out a few weeks on sundays at the first showing of the day. whenever i go when they are out new or at night I get a few people that seem to have bronchitis, a few more with tuberculous and at least 1 suffering from whooping cough.

also get someone who has a shrill annoying laughing that cackles at parts no one else is laughing at to the point it seems like they are just doing it for attention every once in a while. Guardians of the Galaxy was hurt because of one such person for the viewing i went to.

so yeah.
