There is a fantastic pro wrestling show that is going to happen in New Japan on the 4th and one of the matches on the card is Chris Jericho vs Kenny Omega. And one of the taglines of the match is Alpha vs Omega, because Jericho is saying he's the Alpha and Omega is, well, the Omega.

What I want to know is if the reference/play on words crosses over into Japanese. Alpha being the top dog (Jericho) and Omega being the weakest (Kenny Omega)

I don't know how to make it sound better. . .

I thought it was pretty easy to understand, lol

When Jericho says, "I'm the Alpha and you're the Omega," does the play on the word Omega carry over in translation?

The company is promoting it as such, in English text, on their otherwise Japanese promotional material. You need to remember that in lots of other non-English speaking countries lots of people still have a good grasp of English.

Depends on how they translate it.

You're asking if a Greek word stays the same in Japanese? It's a foreign word so it almost certainly will still be Omega. The concept of "alpha" dogs and stuff like that might not exist there, though. I don't think they do because the entire premise was false and the guy who coined the term later went back and realized his observations were entirely wrong and that he was observing a family so of course the parent was the largest and seemingly in control.
