Yes, where I work actually supply and fit them too. Touch enabled Digital signage, pretty cool stuff.

I've been to one with the touchscreens before

Took too long

I'd rather just tell a person my order and be done in half a minute

My local McDonalds has them, but I still have to order at the cash register because what I order cannot be done on the touch screen.

I order 3 plain grilled chicken patties and a large diet Dr Pepper. The meal is around $5, has loads of protein, and has very little fat.

You can thank those asking for $15 min-wage for a fast food job for that. Showing how easily they can be replaced by a machine and the customers get a better experience.

Lol you think those people wouldn't have been replaced anyway

The current model will not be sustainable forever, raising the minimum wage is putting a bandaid on the issue

Blame inflation instead.

Nope. Minimum wage increases did it.
https://www.thenewamerican.com/economy/economics/item/24699-mcdonald-s-response-to-15-minimum-wage-automation-in-every-store
Its official: McDonalds says that every one of its 14,000 stores nationwide will be replacing cashiers with automated touch-screen kiosks. Theyre starting with stores where minimum-wage laws mandate the highest rates, such as Florida, New York, San Francisco, Boston, Chicago, Washington, D.C., and Seattle.

Oh for fuck's sake... why are so many people too dumb to understand that inflation and wages should keep pace but don't.

Yep. They raise the prices double-triple and sometimes quadruple whenever minimum wage is raised.

Why plain? Lettuce wouldn't be bad for you.

Oddly enough, when you ask for lettuce they try to charge you for a whole sandwich bringing the total up to around $10 instead of $5. I get my veggies during my other meals.

Oh I thought it came with it on that. I forgot they do charge extra for veggies.
