Let's rephrase the question.

"Why don't you go out and spend money on another kitchen appliance that only does one job that is already covered by an existing appliance?"

Yeah.

I'll do this if I'm just making a cup of generic black tea with milk and honey or some instant cider.

If it's for anything like higher quality tea, green tea or herbal tea I'll use my coffee/tea maker to make sure it gets to a certain temperature

I pull out a pot, I then pour some tap water in the pot...
then I put pot (w/water) on top of the stove...
and then I turn on the stove,...
set the temperature to 250F, leave it on for 5~10 minutes...
and that's where I get my hot water from.......
I'm American BTW, and I just debunked your rumor.

You use hot water for cooking, and a microwave is nowhere close to the speed of an electric kettle, and you run the risk of superheating the water with a microwave

I have a fridge because there isn't any other appliance in my kitchen that can do what a fridge does.

Why don't you have a separate cooler for your milk even though you could just leave it in the fridge? That's so cave man!

first off, lets point out that ultima basically made something up to mock americans about

secondly, lets point out the elitism ultima is trying to display over something as simple as boiling water

thirdly, i'd like to point out that microwaving water in cup ramen, or for coffee is a perfectly legitimate thing to do, even if an electric kettle is convenient (microwaving water to a boil doesn't take more than a few minutes)

finally, ultima is a loli watcher

I have a 1500 watt microwave, not some fucking 600 watt piece of shit for college kids.
I'm not going to dedicate the counter space to a kettle so yes, even if you have a decent one, it's going to be slower with set up alone.

You use hot water for cooking

Which is why I give my sauce pan and other cookware plenty of use. The few times I need "hot water" as an ingredient, my microwave is more than sufficient.

Monotools are fucking stupid in the kitchen.

Uh no. Have you ever tried microwaving water? Or using an electric kettle? Specially when there is more liquid, an electric kettle is so much faster. Though if you don't actually heat up water much, there really isn't a need to get one. And both are faster than a stove.

The reason you should be putting a wooden chopstick in there is to allow the bubbles to form, otherwise the water will heat up past boiling and when you move it, the bubbles instantly form exploding out the water burning you.

Maybe...

I just used a glass container.

Probably an old cup with surface scratches. A brand new cup is dangerous, without those surface scratches to help create the bubbles, the water will superheat.

The glass container is actually new. It's a pyrex measuring cup (4 cups).

Well then, you got lucky. Still safer to keep a wooden chopstick in the contain regardless, unless you enjoy getting first and second degree burns.
