looking to open up a checking account. not chase, i already have that.

they all suck to be honest. the big ones at least.

i use Alliant Credit Union. i get a hefty 1.15% interest on my savings i think 0.65% on checking. compare that to like, chase/boa/wellsfargo's 0.003% or something around that. i also get free transfers in and out, and the customer service is great.

but i would go for a credit union. a local one. look around and see what's in your area.

also, if you're willing, you can open up a Brokerage account for free with Charles Schwab. if you open that, you also get a free checking account. their debit card gets ALL atm fees returned. no limit. ALL OF IT. and that includes OVERSEAS atm fees. its amazing.
