My family doesn't go to church and my parents hold the service at home. It involves reading the bible every week. This has been going on for years and it is just so boring reading the same stories over and over. I want to tell them I am tired of it but they would disown me.

If it were any other book after reading it a couple times it would be acceptable to not read it again you know how the story goes but with the bible I feel I cant tell my family that.

You should suggest intense bible study. At least then you arent hearing the same stories over and over and you can exercise your brain

It's the central document for a religion that teaches that it has the answers for literally every possible scenario that could come up in life and will also grant you infinite life and eternal bliss if followed to the letter.

I mean, It's not my thing, but if you truly believe, it makes sense that you might want to memorize it.
