Bought P5 the other day even though it'll probably be a very long time before I play it, because the fairly-hard-to-find steelbook edition turned up at a decent price. I noticed the disc had one scratch that looked a little worrying, so I put it in the PS4 to see if it would read and install properly, and it almost immediately reported the game as taking up 20GB on the hard drive. I would have expected an install of that size to take longer, and there was no progress bar to show that it was actually copying data, so I'm not certain if it's all really there, or possibly just reserved space that it will transfer as needed.

So my question is- is that 20 GB a full dump that can be assumed to be working, or will it still need to pull data off the disc that might be corrupted later on?

Anyone? I'm pretty sure it's fine, but if I need to return it I'd rather know now than... several years after the deadline expires.

Pretty sure it would be fine but I don't know for certain

Blu-rays are pretty scratch resistant in the first place so I'm surprised he even has one
