I don't know I think gifted food usually makes its way to the trash.

An anonymous donor brought us in some big tins of chocolates today so that was nice. Earlier this week someone came in with a handful of $10 Tim's cards and gave us each one. it was very nice.

This morning someone said "I left a coffee for you on the counter," so I excitedly said "oh, wow, thank you so much!" They looked a little surprised. Walked over there, couldn't see a coffee, and realized they had actually said they left me a copy (of a bill). Without skipping a beat I picked it up and said "I'll make sure we pay this right away, thanks, and Merry Christmas!"

I almost felt like an ass but I just ran with it.

nah it depends on what it is but packaged food or home baked stuff from people you know is usually appreciated
