Do you judge people in their tastes in games/movies/books/shows/etc?

I met a few people who judge someones worth or judge them as a person just by what they like or dislike when it comes to entertainment value. I know some of it is trolling but there's others who seriously do it.

Question is if you're one of those people too or if you judge someone fairly.

No, don't. I'd hope there is more to a person than their taste in entertainment, a lot more.

I only watch porn. I do nothing else with my free time. I almost ate real food the other day, but arg, I was too busy watching golden showers to get up.

No. People like or dislike what they like. So what if that person enjoys a video game I personally dislike or has a low metacritic score? I see them as a person. We, as a species are individuals who like and dislike various things.

If we judge someone based off what they value in entertainment, then that is shallow.

Yeah, but is has to be a pretty extreme outlier that basically boils down to them being proud of their ignorance or some shit like that. Also, I knew a guy who LITERALLY would watch the newest movies and then come back to school on Monday and say it was LITERALLY the best movie ever. He went to see a movie every week and it always topped the last one, I guess. I judged him a lot.

Yeah. It's usually in a positive manner -- if they consume the same media or genre that I do, I tend to like 'em.

If they don't -- it's usually more neutral. I don't dislike someone for watching a given show, unless that's all they do or talk about. So I'm not judging them on their taste, I'm judging because they're an insufferable fan.

The few shows that I'll actively dislike someone for: multiple, simultaneous prime time "reality / eliminate a contestant" shows and/or binging Fox News (any 24/7 'news' channel, really).

It depends, I don't mind that someone may like stuff I don't, but when they trash or make fun of the stuff I like but like crap?

This one gf I had claimed she was a movie buff, obsessed with nightmare before Christmas, rock horror picture show, thinks Christmas story is the best, she had very basic tastes.

I told her I liked Watchmen, and she made fun of it, only focused on dr manhattans genitals being shown.

Also she didn't like eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, little miss sunshine, etc any movie where you have to think a little.

And I'd never call myself a movie buff.

Also don't care for people that just list fav music as "anything!"

Not really. Me and my gf have very different taste in music, tv, movies. We just shit all over each other's picks, so it's all good. Now if we both didn't like talkin shit that may be a problem.
