mix of new material and old-songs redone with an orchestral / electronic background instead of a rock one and de-cheesed Bring Me To Life a little without that horrid backup singer.

I'm surprised you remember how much I love them :)

I sometimes remember the most mundane shit with perfect accuracy and forget important things.

That rap part in the bridge was awesome.

Yep, I was gonna go to that show too, but by the time I got paid the tickets had sold out and scalpers got ahold of them. I did get the new album though, it's not bad.

I hated it. The whole thing seemed like a contrived label plug to sell more copies of his shit band's album by leeching off the popularity of Evanescence.

Did they have popularity before that song?

Yes. That song is actually on their second album. Additionally, in a leaked demo, they have an early mastering of that song that doesn't have the backup singer.

they weren't popular or particularly well known before that song, doesn't matter that it was on their second album. I definitely remember it mainly for the rap part.

Reunion? I thought it was just Lee handing material over to other studios to be reworked. I don't recall the entire band participating. Although there was some new material on the album.

They got more famous after the song because it got stuck on the Daredevil soundtrack + radio for even more label plugs. This was not a coincidence. The label saw that their popularity was skyrocketing and did some plugging.

The vocals are also new. I mean, same lyrics same notes but she clearly sang the songs again as there are some slight differences in tone/pitch/volume.

Appears to be just me. Other people either like it or have no strong feelings.

Are you sure the studios didn't just rework the a cappella tracks? A cappella is going to sound different from what you hear on Evanescence's old studio albums since the raw vocal tracks aren't synthesized or edited in any way. If an old song gets reworked, the editors are probably going to apply different (or maybe no) effects to the vocal track.

It's possible they modified the vox channel files, but if they did, then they did so in fairly significant quantities, while somehow managing to avoid the Cher effect that usually accompanies that kind of stuff.

I feel like a hipster for saying this, but does anyone else like their Origin stuff the most? Like if I was stuck with only one album I'd choose that over Fallen and The Open Door.

I like some of the songs, and the Origin version of Imaginary is much better than the Fallen version, but overall I think the best music is on the 2011 self titled album.
