Yeah, but they're probably going to ask permission to blow something up in return for shaving off twenty percent. I mean they likely can do so without selling you anything, but still.

Toke jopic, I know, but I've never understood the "we never negotiate with terrorist" stance some people seem to favour.

You should always be in favour of negotiating. That doesn't mean you have to agree to anything, but simply issuing a blanket declaration is arbitrarily taking options off the table for no good reason.

main thing I see is you hope by declaring that, no one tries doing things specifically to gain leverage in a negotiation. I don't think thats panned out though, the first time you don't stick by it, it blows the whole concept to hell, and no one believes it anymore.

that or they really up the ante thinking they can get you to reconsider the "don't negotiate" policy
