I never saw the tags or warning because I started watching it part way through. The abruptness was terrifying.

Anyone else go through it this way? What did y'all think of the game?

The second act twist was good but way too much of the game is a cookie cutter visual novel to not fade into obscurity within a year.

Maybe they should have telegraphed a bit better where all the clues were. If you leave the game files open in Steam, it drops temporary messages and files in there over the course of the game, and it kept me interested enough to keep going.

Then again, I was told that "the girl you reject kills herself" and "it's meta so you can delete the girls' character data". Basically ruined by that point, but I wouldn't have touched a dating visual novel thing otherwise.

It already hit 1 million downloads, and I hear rumors that it was setup/advertising for an ARG or something.
They could spin the fad into something really cool if they do it right, maybe.

Its a game that I would have never picked up so I'm glad it turned out this way. I also used to think that spoilers didn't matter but the build up into darkness makes me wonder about that decision.

And someone pointed out that Sayori's hands were bloody, so she changed her mind mid way through. That whole sequence of her admitting depression, her confessing her love, screaming after getting rejected (not what I would have chosen so this was more brutal for me), writing that poem, killing herself and then regretting it part way through was insane. When I watched it and noticed the blood it was the first time I got choked up at a video game. Especially since I struggle with bipolar disorder.

I liked it. Watching game grumps play through it right now. Their voices for the girls are hilarious. They'll probably hit the big twist in the next few days.
