So I was waiting on this guy and his girlfriend or wife or w/e and they were friendly and I was being nice as I always am and everything because I am a Good Employee and as they leave I say "here is your reciept have a nice day!" and the guy reaches his hand out, says merry christmas and drops a hundred dollar bill folded up in my hand.

I kinda went "uhh, um, uhh" like what i cant take that but he just left before i could say anything.

Ive never had this happen to me before really, so this is cool.

I've had people shake my hand to give me tips before. But usually, it's just a $20. Haha. It was after Target banned tips back when I was in high school. The customers knew and still snuck us tips.

I once got a $25 gift card to Starbucks for carrying out a TV when I worked in retail. I even accidentally smacked it against a door while the customer was right next to me but he didn't seem to care.

I got a tenner for carrying out for an old lady the other day. I'm not really supposed to take it but it was in the parking lot in the dark, no one could've ever known.

Officially I'm allowed to take it if I "donate" it to our charity, but who's gonna do that.

Wow. Good for you. That's awesome.

I spent years working at a sporting goods store. I carried 100-300 pound weight sets out a few times a week, and I'm, like, 130 lbs soaking wet. In total, I made, maybe $40 in tips.

Again, good for you. Lol.

yeah at wal mart i am not supposed to take tips, but i am keeping this one. Normally our routine is to refuse but if they insist donate it to childrens miracle network.

but i thought to myself, no, fuck that. its mine.

Still got that giftcard from yesterday i made a topic about. my charitable act will be taking ten dollars off of somebodies bill, but i havent yet.

yeah when I worked at a fast food place people would sneak me tips. unless you count this group of pleasant old people blatantly bringing me stuff like cookies and rum cake. but on a christmas eve I did get a 20 dollar tip, guy buried it under some of the trash on his tray and told me to look through it before dumping it and said merry christmas and walked out.

just to clarify this particular place actually would hire some one (me in this case) to stay in the dinning room and keep it clean at all times (and the bathrooms), and we encouraged customers to leave their trash on the table for me to clean up. I was basically a cross between a busboy and janitor. actually the easiest job I ever had.
