I'd say less then 5% and Voldemort wanted to kill and/or enslave the other 95%. That's pretty hardcore evil there.

It is not clear how many witches and wizards are in the entire world, but some hints are given. It is stated that there are ten times more Muggles than wizards in the world. If the global Muggle population was about 5 billion in the 1990s, it would mean that the wizard population was 500 million. However, it is also said that the British wizard population is about 3,000, one third being Hogwarts students. This would indicate a very low birth rate (although wizarding families are big, they live more than their Muggle counterparts) and mean that other countries are much more populous than Britain or that there is somewhere in the world where a very large concentration of wizards occur (one much larger than Britain's). In all likelihood, however, the former is a dramatic overestimate, the latter something of an underestimate.

Is Hogwarts the only magic school? Seems dangerously stupid to only have one school for millions of wizards.

No, there's many. Even just in that area there's a multiple.

According to the wiki there are eleven in the entire world. All other education is homeschooling, correspondence courses, or informal schools.

Well shit I've forgotten more than I thought from when I read the books. Or it might've just been my own imagination expanding on the story back then and me thinking of that. For whatever reason I was sure there were a good number of them lol.

The eleven schools wasn't mentioned in the books. I think only 4 were.

Three were mentioned IIRC. A lot of people thought that a Salem group seen at the World Cup was an American school, but that turned out to not be the case.

There is. It actually sounds a lot cooler than Hogwarts.
http://harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Uagadou_School_of_Magic

At an International Symposium of Animagi held in or around 2016, the Uagadou School Team attracted a lot of press when their display of synchronised transformations nearly caused a riot. Many older and more experienced witches and wizards felt threatened by teenagers who could transform at will into elephants and cheetahs

Uagadou students prefer and are able to cast spells simply by pointing their fingers or through other types of hand gestures.

Students receive notice of their acceptance to Uagadou through Dream Messengers, sent by the headmaster or headmistress of the day. The Dream Messenger appears to the child as they sleep and will leave a token, usually an inscribed stone, to be found in the child's hand upon waking.

I like how the wizards in different regions tend to use magic differently. Wandcraft is the primary European thing, that African school apparently has a lot of animagi and cast spells without wands, and the American school is built off of a European witch bring wands and combining that with Native American herbal magic and potion making.
