ISP's can now charge you for going to certain websites.

Net Neutrality prevented this.

Let's say they know like you coming to gamefaqs a lot so when you come here they will purposely slow your internet down unless you pay a premium.

The best example I saw was think of your internet as the electricity in your house. You want to use your fridge but it doesn't work. So you call the electric company and they tell you that you need to pay a $19.99/mo to get your fridge working so you pay it. Then you want to watch TV or play games but your TV won't turn on. So you call again and they charge you $14.99/mo so your TV works. All of this on top of what you already pay them per month. Just replace all that with websites and that's what net neutrality prevented.

Net Neutrality prevented ISPs from giving priority to specific domains/websites/services/etc on the internet.

A few examples of what could happen without the protections of Net Neutrality:

- Hulu can contact your ISP and tell them, "We'll pay you a million bucks per year if you charge customers extra money for access to Netflix".

- Netflix could pay your ISP to throttle a directly competing start up company who provides better and cheaper service, killing the new business.

- The Liberal owner of an ISP could decide to block Fox News and other conservative sources from their service, meaning you only have access to left leaning information over the internet (this example could go the other way too, and screw over liberals instead of conservatives).

And it's not just us who will have to pay for better services, it's online services such as Steam, Netflix, certain websites even FB who will have to pay more if they want their customers to get to their sites normally.

Wow.
Lol America.
Over here such economic practices would fall under "illegal economic entente" which would severely violates the EU free market & customer protection legislations, the ensuing fines would put anyone out of business (and in orbit lol) and their licenses to provide Internet or any form of telecom services would be revoked forever. I didn't know Murica was still in the Middle Age in terms of consumer protection laws. The very fact that such insanity was even possible is mental.
