Are the Chinese last names Qi and Xi supposed to be pronounced the same?

I'm just going off of Dynasty Warriors pronunciations. I'm not a linguist by any means.

They pronounce Qi as Chi. See:

The other post pronouncing Zhi as "jir" I think is correct. There's a character named Lianshi and her name is pronounced as Lee-Ann-Sure

Dynasty Warriors is wildly all over the place about their pronounciations.

For example, some games have Cao Cao pronounced as "Cow Cow", whereas it should be pronounced "Tsow Tsow". IIRC, they got better in later games, though.

Anyway,
Qi = Chi (Exactly like it's spelt, this one translates easily)
Shi - Shir or She (depends on regional accent; IIRC, the Beijing accent adds the "r" onto words sometimes)
Zi = Jhir (Nasal, through the back of the throat)

However, it's also important to note that the language is completely tonal. In Mandarin, at least, there are four tones and a single word can actually be four different words depending on the tone you use. For example, Ma with a flat tone means mother, whereas with a third tone (up and down) it means horse, and with a falling tone it means to scold,

Yeah, Dynasty Warriors 7 they got accurate with the pronunciations of names and battles and whatnot (So I've been told). Prior to that, they mostly just said things how they looked (Chibi being pronounced as Chee-Bee rather than Chur bee) with some exceptions
