Just like most riddles, it is a load of rubbish tbh >.>

:(

I like riddles, they challenge your mind.

Give you new perspectives.

Amy, Megan, Frank, Charlie, Susan, Larry, Evan, and their dog Wingdor are in the woods. They are cold and they are lost. They have no matches, no lighter, nothing to make fire from. There is no cabin or any other sign of life in their sightline. Where will they find flame?

Answer:Frank, Larry, Amy, Megan and Evan are Flame, because the first letters of their names

This is how dumb your riddle is

Actually it's even dumber than that.

It'd be like if you took that riddle, but also added "in the distance about a hundred yards away, they see a fire pit with a fire lit and going. Where will they find flame?"

There's nothing to figure out.

It's not a riddle.

It's a deliberate lie.

How is it a lie?

Because you're specifically giving an answer in the riddle and then saying it's not true later. Like my example above. It's like saying in a riddle that the sky is blue, then asking what color the sky is, then saying "wrong! It's actually some other color because of this riddle stuff!"

It's like when a movie with a twist ending straight up lies to you earlier instead of just being well-written and thought out.

The Sky isn't blue, it's violet. That's basic science.

You can't even argue your point without defeating yourself.

If the wording in the riddle was "Then the King appeared to throw the key in the bottom of the lake" it might've made it slightly better. Or "When the King was at the bottom of the lake he hid it somewhere".

That's true, we'll compromise there.

I should have phrased it "He then takes the key, leaves the castle and travels the east road to throw the key in the bottom of the lake. Then to ensure he is not being followed, he walks around the lake and takes a different road home, slightly further south, heading back westward."

But that's the most semantic of nitpicks.

Education.

The best drug of all.

We percieve the sky as blue, but that doesn't make it blue any more than percieving the Sun to be God because it's big and grows plants for you makes the sun God.

Sorry you were never taught this but I suggest you look it up.

Except color IS based on our perception. If I had a car whose physical properties suggested that it should be purple, and yet it visually manifests as a blue color, guess what? That car is blue, not purple.

Not true.

If you're wearing a red shirt and a colorblind man sees it as green, does that mean you're wearing a green shirt?

No.

Hell by your logic nothing has any color because blind people exist, and if you put on tinted contacts or sunglasses than that literally changes the colors of things around you.

Perception means literally nothing apart from what you percieve. To think otherwise is arrogance of the highest order.

And let's not even speak of that "color of this dress" fisaco.

Your red shirt will always be a red shirt.

You're so wrong but will never admit it, huh? First off, I'm obviously referring to someone with normal working human eyes, so your colorblind argument is ridiculous.

The important thing is, when people talk about color, they're almost always referring to how it is perceived by someone with normal vision... they're NOT referring to the object's fucking wavelength properties. That's why the sky IS blue, and to claim otherwise is completely dishonest.

So while you may, in some small way, be correct on such a technicality, you're also being purposefully pedantic and misleading.

Why?

How come you get to decide that what reality says is wrong, all that matters is human perception, however the only human perception that matters is your own?

That's the height of egotism, it's the logic of a literal small child.

Not really as in the bottom of the lake isn't a riddle.

It's a lateral thinking riddle

I think that's frustrating that part of the riddle said it's in the bottom of the lake. If riddles can contain lies then it kind of defeats the purpose of a riddle.

It doesn't contain lies though

That's just not the answer .

Like going "knock knock " and you go "No one comes to my door and if they did they would ring the bell! It's a lies

It's a riddle

No, it contained a lie by saying the key was in the bottom of the lake. That just happened to not be the accepted answer (but is still correct) or it's a lie. Either way, that ruins the riddle.

I'm not sure I follow your 'knock knock' example.

we'll compromise there.

I should have phrased it "He then takes the key, leaves the castle and travels the east road to throw the key in the bottom of the lake. Then to ensure he is not being followed, he walks around the lake and takes a different road home, slightly further south, heading back westward."

What I think the riddle really should have imo is that the key gets lost along the way and he doesn't realize it until the end and then the question is "Where is the key?"

Obviously you have to rework the riddle a bit to get that to work.
