That's not what I mean. I'm not talking about the impact made by those who use the book and subscribe wholeheartedly to its supposed truth.

I mean that there's no reason to treat it as anything more than a book of mythology in terms of its contents.

I'm not sure I totally understand what you're saying, but it sounds like something I'd agree with lol.

Yeah, there are fucked up parts of the Bible. Like the opener where God kicks humanity out of his garden for learning where the Tree of Life was after eating from the Tree of Knowledge.

I mostly just mean that; yes, there are absolutely dangers that come with taking very questionable (at the absolute) precepts from a book, accepting them as the unquestionable truth of the world, and using forceful (to put it nicely) means to achieve those standards. The world we live in has more than demonstrated how dangerous that can be.

But putting all that to the side for a moment, I think that some people stretch a bit too far to criticize the Bible, when there are a mountain of things to criticize it for that don't involve any stretching in the slightest. And any of those mountain of things is enough to make it painfully clear that the book itself is just a collection of mythology.

Are these really the same clowns I used to respect as formidable opponents here? Could've sworn Barenziah used to have a brain back in those years.

Where did I condemn Christians as a whole? I was referring specifically to Roy Moore supporters.

Oh yes I agree. I hate when people have to exaggerate or even lie to make a point when the actual facts are more than enough to get their point across. They end up making the other side look more rational and probably giving them more support than they would have originally.
