One of my least favorite GTA games. I didn't find it as fun as nearly all the other games in the series, even the first 2 top-down games I found more enjoyable. It's way too clunky, world is boring, Niko & Roman are insufferably annoying, combat & driving are atrocious, & every mission felt the same (go from point A to point B, kill a few people, go back to point A to get a new mission, repeat). Luckily they fixed all these issues in GTA5, although GTA Online is terrible.

I like its story and characters. Niko is my favorite lead in the series, and I feel that he's one of the best written characters in video games.

it's also a great crime-drama, but it's not a good GTA, IMO. like others have said, it takes itself too seriously, and the side content isn't that great.

anyway, I feel that it would have avoided a lot of backlash if it was a new IP

All it was missing was a jet pack, parachute, planes and a few other things from SA

It got my dad into the series so that's cool (he beat V before me lol) but overall it was incredibly weak.
