When Donald and Melania kicked off the holiday seeason in the nation's capital last week, it was indeed to a SPARSE crowd as there were rows of empty seats during the National Christmas Tree lightning!!

The president shared on twitter that he was very much excited on lighting the tree "all year long" but the "huge" turnout he was hoping for turned out to be a dud

A photo shared on twitter by journalist Steve Rudin captured hundreds of empty seats as he noted the ceremony was beautiful but it was hard not to notice when there were empty seats in front of him.

The image paled in comparison to the crowds Obama drew at his first tree lighting ceremony in 2009.

It soon went viral with people comparing the lackluster seats to Trump's inauguration ceremony which irked Trump himself that people were stating his crowds were less than impressive

Trump joined hosts Dean Cain and Kathie Lee Gifford on the White House Ellipse as Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke said "Merry Christmas, America. Trump is a man who loves our parks, our military and our country. The man who brought Merry Christmas back to our nation's capital, and you did sir"

Trump made note that Christmas means a lot to Christians as it is a holy season and the birth of their lord and saviour, Jesus Christ and that every human is a child of God.

I've had a few say, "It's Happy Holidays now" to me and I'll respond with, "Great. Merry Christmas to you."

Other than that, no one cares who says what. They'll get butthurt online but when you say it to their face, they likely won't tell you what you can or cannot say.

During that whole Starbucks taking out "Merry Christmas" fiasco. I kinda wonder who is the bigger baby. Those wanting to be holiday neutral or those offended by the removal of "Merry Christmas". Personally I think both sides are making a big deal out of nothing. Neither sides are technically wrong. Christmas is celebrated in December but also along with other holidays.
