I read the books but a long long time ago and I've seen the movies. I don't remember Shelob being anything other than a big fat spider that Sauron let live solely as a pet for his own amusement.

But I've been playing Shadow of War and now she's a sexy lady who had sex with Sauron and said she took the form of a spider by choice..... And has her own big goals and agendas.

Considering this is supposedly supposed to be the prequel to the movies it makes it hilarious considering what happens between her and Sam.

Any extended LOTR Lore nuts on CE who want to fill in the blanks for me?

fair enough but then why make the one with the big boobs Shelob?

I mean they introduced a brand new ladygirl guard at the city and she is fully clothed and like 4 feet tall.

Could have just made her big breasted and called Cara Lroft or something.

Or called this weird sexy lady magic character a new one, call her Glorifigos or something. Seems weird to be Shelob.

To me it would be like a Star Wars prequel that made the Sarlacc a sexy lady.

There's no "lore," it's a non-canon video game. Nothing else to it.

But Shelob definitely has her own agendas. Just not as grandiose as in the game

Anyone else not really get into the Nemesis system in this game?

In the first game it was a cherry on top of a good game.

In this game it just seem like hassle. Almost every captain I turn then betrays me instantly, one of them literally I recuited, ran down a path to the next quest, and he ambushed me halfway down the road and betrayed me.

Also every time I do a quest or go hunting for a captain, it always seems like 3 or 4 show up. Each with savages and hunters and shield guys and I have to fight forever. Then by the time they're dead a blood brother or an ambush has also shown up.

It's not hard, the game is so easy that you don't die, but it is an absolute chore. None of the captains feel special, no betrayal seems special, even cool things like blood-brothers and ambushes lose all sting because they happen 20 times within an hour as opposed to once in a blue moon.

I would have liked it more if the special scenarios were a lot lot rarer, especially betrayals. And if the captains were a lot stronger but also rarely right next to each other.

3 or 4 captains turning up at once should be an "Oh shit!" moment not a "yawn." moment.

It just doesn't feel satisfiying. It feels like trying to catch smoke.
