I'm selling my og Xbox 360 for 20 bucks. The lady behind the counter is trying to test it. The guy buying a game next to me is buying cod ww2 I think cause he's talking about how his favorite game ever was SOCOM US Navy Seals. Kid ringing him up says he's never even heard of that game.

Guy talks about how cool it was because you could hear everyone's voices so you had to be tactical and quiet and use teamwork. Kid cringed and said that sounded god awful and annoying.

Cut back to me, girl can't figure out how to test Xbox 360 because it isn't hdmi. I tell her those are component cables and the other guy is like "ugh you need an adapter" and goes to get the component connects for their test screen.

They still can't figure it out. Claim it's broken. I ask if I can try. I properly connect it to the test screen and it works perfectly. They forgot to said h it from component to rgb cause that was the only old school connect they had.

Other dude that liked socom is laughing at this point and then they can't figure out how to reset the system. I start to show them but I guess they get fed up and just gave me the 25 trade credit and told me to leave.

They started that up in the last two years or so. Back in the late 90s they carried some similar stuff, mostly imported or game related toys, but it's gotten to the point where every other day they add something new that doesn't sell and eventually goes on clearance.

I've stopped going to GameStop. If they're the only ones with something in stock I buy online/buy digital. Everytime I go in, it's a bad experience.

Last time I did, I was charged twice for Star Wars Battlefront 2015 because the card reader froze mid transaction, printed half a receipt but I was told "nope didn't go through" I knew it did but wanted to leave with the game so I could at least file that I was charged twice for something and not leave with anything at all.

The store is always so cramped as well.

And $25 store credit for a 360 is goofy, like I get that most of the bigger titles can be played on an Xbox One at this point but still...ain't worth the hassle!

And like I didn't mean to make them feel bad I get that probably nobody ever brings in an original Xbox 360 anymore cause the guy even thought they couldn't take it until he scanned it and it turned out it was worth $25 but I just thought the whole thing was funny cuz it's kind of like wow I'm old cuz I know how to hook up component cables

Yeah I always remember a few import figures or statues but it was like one small section in the back.

Now like over half the store was toys and knick knacks and funko pops.

I'll be honest, I have felt like an old man every time I go into Gamestop for the better part of 3 years now.

Every time I go in I'm the only person over 18 there that is buying a game for themselves, everyone else is always a parent with their kids.

I have no use for an original Xbox 360.

It was literally something I had forgotten about until I was cleaning out my house and found it. And considering it's an original 360 I doubt that it would even survive much longer if I did have a use for it.

I'm pretty sure he's actually screwing Gamestop with this, since they were giving away 360's on Black Friday due to being overstocked and nobody buying them.

My guess is either they forgot to take them off the market for trade ins, or they literally have to keep them up because they now accept retro consoles.
