I vote yay. Xenoblade has quickly become one of my top 3 franchises. XBC2 is no exception, barring a few minor issues so far. The gameplay is fun, combat is smooth (albeit a little hard to get the hang of), and the story is YOOOOOOOOOOOOO fucking amazing (just finished chapter 3)

It's really good. I love it a lot.

Everything about it is better than Xenoblade 1. Although if you're picking up for fan service, you might be disappointed. There's surprisingly not that much. Even the rumored hot springs section was super tame

What's actually worse is people have this idea that this game is pure porn and not buy it. Based on what? I guess Pyra's outfit? Sigh... I dunno, the Japanese sales were just ok, as well, even though it was just 2 days worth of sales. I'm pretty sad that such a great game's just getting dismissed without being given any chance.

What's actually worse is people have this idea that this game is pure porn and not buy it. Based on what? I guess Pyra's outfit? Sigh... I dunno, the Japanese sales were just ok, as well, even though it was just 2 days worth of sales. I'm pretty sad that such a great game's just getting dismissed without being given any chance.

I mean it's obvious enough that I'm glad I live alone so my parents don't walk in on me during a boob-heavy cutscene, but it's nowhere near what people were saying it was gonna be (I'm only just done with chapter 3 though so maybe it gets worse, but I doubt it)

I'm on Ch 5. No, it doesn't ever get worse. They comment on how blades tend to have skimpier outfits, but it's not by choice, it's sorta what's reflected in their driver's hearts lmao.

The exploration and sense of scale is as good as has always been, my main problem with the game (besides the character designs) is the feel of combat. I love the addition of auto-attack canceling for arts making you more involved with timing, but WOW does combat take for ever in this entry with attacks and arts doing minuscule damage and blade combos being the only consist way to deal significant damage to enemies of your level. Not to mention constant audio and visual crowding that goes on during combat as 6 party members garble the screen with whatever monsters you are fighting, all shouting over each other, with it all framed by the User interface on all edges of the screen.

I'd agree with crowding as well as arts not doing as much damage as it should (though actually, they do build up because say a lvl 1 blade art does 10k, a back slash from Rex does 5k, and you're using that constantly to build up blade art, so it's almost like doing 1.5 blade lvl 1 arts til lvl 2, like 3 blade lvl 1 arts til lvl 3, they are doing much, just not that apparent, and yes they should've been stronger, I totally agree). But I've used a lot of audio cues to tell who did what, which proved to be pretty important in timing if I should save my stuff or not.

The UI though I've never had problems with. Mostly because they're all necessary in this extremely dense combat system

I'll tell you, it somehow keeps getting better. They lock a LOT of mechanics and very slowly spoonfeeds you new stuff. I'm biased, too, and obviously the game has flaws, but what game doesn't. I do wish they'd hire some new UI people tho XD

Good to hear. I liked it from the beginning, but in chapter 3 it suddenly "clicked" for me and brought my love to a new level.

I'm actually not even there yet, just going back and doing quests. I finally enjoy Tiger! Tiger! and I love the sidequests. All the rare Blade skills give so much possibility.

I finally got around to playing some tiger tiger at the beginning of chapter 4 after neglecting it for a while. It's really cathartic and an interesting break.

I was a little livid when I realized I needed a "technical manual" to change Poppi's element, but whatevs
