Like, I can see why it would annoy people. But damn everyone in that game gets pissed at him for toying around a bit before making the call. Poker has some weird etiquete mang.

It's just a dick move. You flop the nut hand with that flush and waste everyone's time by taking two minutes to make the call. It's disrespectful to all the other players there

It's a different story if the guy with A6 doesn't put him all-in on the flop. In that case, the theatrics can be justified by trying to make the guy think his hand is weaker than it truly is. But once he bets you all-in there's no advantage to further acting like that.

I was glad to see the old man catch that full house on the river and knock dude out lol

Lol fucking NFL. Basically Gronk tackles a guy that is already on the ground

Seriously though it's just considered really unsportsman-like behavior which in a tournament wouldn't really hurt you other than making them hate you but in a game with regular players it can ostracize you

It's not a mind game when in those cases though. It's when one player is all-in and tricking him into thinking you have a weaker hand won't change anything.

Exactly. I edited my earlier post to include that acting like that is justified if the old man didn't put him all-in. After that though there's really no excuse lol

i'm torn on something like this.

one part of me says you can't slow roll at that point in a hand. yeah, his hand was bonkers, but he was still only 4:1 to win the hand, and his chair was at stake with a call.

the other part of me says 100% of players are going to make that call 100% of the time. so get on with it.

shrug.

Exactly. 100% of poker players will make the call 100% of the time. There is absolutely no reason not to.

I was trying to think of any situation this might be justified. The only thing I can come up with is if the tournament was one spot from being in the money, and you've got a guy who's all but out with one BB left. Maaaaybe you consider folding there to all but ensure you finish in the money.

An extreme situation like that is the only time you might even have to think about not calling, though

yeah, i think I'm adding in too much hindsight to this. he only loses to a full house or straight flush. even with two cards to come, that's a snap call.
