Basically, you get all the money tax free to do whatever you want with it, but all the other galaxies in the universe disappear forever.

Do you take the money?

As a side note, the nearest galaxy is the Andromeda galaxy. It is 2.5 million light years away. This means that it takes 2.5 million years for the light from the Andromeda galaxy to reach us. So it will take 2.5 million years before it's possible for someone on earth to know that the Andromeda galaxy has disappeared. So, basically, no one on earth will notice anything for a very long time.

Money easily. I don't even give a shit about other planets in this Galaxy, let alone entirely different Galaxies.

I feel like disintegrating the other galaxies would cause some kind of disruption in our existence.

I have no idea what would happen in terms of physics to the universe. Who knows, everything might just collapse.

These.

We live in a reality where even the slightest disruption in physical property has massive repercussions. As inconsequential as the billions of other galaxies seem, they are integral for our own existence, given the laws of physics.

nothing can travel faster than the speed of light, any and all disruptions will occur only after whatever time it would take for light to reach us, so who gives a shit.

That's going to cause our galaxy and solar systems within it to change trajectory and stuff. As a result, the human population would probably go extinct from floating too far away from the Sun or too close.

gravity travels at the speed of light, you won't notice shit for millions of years

We don't truly know the nature of some things. Dark matter and dark energy are very new concepts with major implications. Who knows what else there could be that might cause a catastrophe for us here on Earth in this situation.

I rarely go 60 miles away from my home so why would I care about what happens to other galaxies.

Shit, I don't even care what happens to the world as long as it's not a threat to me or where I live.

(i.e. don't care about other states, countries, planets, galaxies, etc).

All I care about is the area that I live in (small town).
