My friend keeps telling me to get off my shitty wifi, and use that instead.

My wifi doesnt reach into my basement and I got one of those.
But it is not 100% stable and does not have the same speed compared to directly hooking stuff to my router. I dont know if that depends on my wiring or something else. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

Ive been using one for years and it works well enough. Definitely more reliable than wifi in some cases like yours but it will be slower than a direct connection like the other guy said. That said, the speed is still fine to do most anything unless you're downloadinh something huge.

Pretty much what everyone else has said. I've experienced instants of disconnection but it's generally stable enough in my home, especially since there are wifi deadzones here. I never tried gaming on it before though.

Damn my friend had an extra set lying around and let me try it. So far no good. Not a lot of outlets for me to choose from. Was able to get from 2mbps to 3.5 which is crap compared to the 11 I'm getting from wifi.

depends on the wiring of the house really. I use mine for online gaming and have a stable connection when gaming. When it works I get about 25-37ms of ping. Now if ATT can just fix their shitty service so I'm not running 100 ping at certain times of the day.

It partially depends on your house. If you have good, stable circuits, you'll have a much more reliable experience than a house with crappy wiring would.

The router is located in the living room which is next to the kitchen so there's a lot of noise from the TV and all the kitchen stuff. I'll try moving the router tomorrow and see how that does.
