i met her in college and she said she and her husband were childfree.

they must have changed their minds recently as she's in her early 30s and he's in his late 30s. she just had a baby a few months ago.

all she does now with every status is complain about how difficult it is to have/take care of a baby. and then she pre-emptively says she doesn't want advice she's just posting to vent.

i mean, isn't that difficulty presumably part of the reason you guys were previously childfree? it's just unbelievable she'd decide to have a kid just to turn around and constantly complain how difficult it is. drives me batty.

It's like a job.

People want jobs.

Then they complain they have jobs.

Just fucking don't get a job then right??

a lot of parents are idiots and don't know the work and sleep deprivation involved in taking care of a baby, ok?

we knew, well before we got preggo, what was required from us, ok?

sure there's a lot to complain about, but we don't, simply because we knew we'd be doing all this. we took classes, we talked to other parents, we read books. we were full educated about what we were getting ourselves into, ok?

babies are hard as fuck to take care of

but you should have known what you are getting yourself into, so there's really no point in complaining. especially if you aren't even going to ask for advice from people who've already been there. that's just stupid.

you're a parent now, buck up and take care of this seemingly permanently drunk acting person for several years

there's tons to complain about but having kids is a personal choice made by billions and to just constantly complain after you were previously childfree... it just seems so silly to me. childfree people know having a kid is difficult, time consuming and you lose a lot of personal freedoms... some forever.. and that's why they decide not to have kids. to turn around on that decision and just complain about it publicly is silly imo.

it's challenging and frustrating as fuck, but then you wake up sometimes, and this bag of screaming, crying, pooping emotions is laying next to you, making coo'ing noises and almost smiling, it melts your cold, black heart and you remember why you're doing this, ok?

Meh, I figure kids will always be a pain in the ass for varied reasons.. but they have their good moments too.
It's just the annoying moments that stand out.. And most parents get used to the dance, but the irritation never really goes away lol.

It is during the annoying moments where I try and remember the good moments. What I find most difficult now is to keep a straight face when disciplining one of my kids for something they did wrong but I find funny how they went about it.

dat new baby smell.

My sister had babies young and I lived with her a few times for quite awhile, they do their thing plus they say/do some hilarious stuff, looking after them was kinda easy, just feed them and make sure they aint doing anything they aint supposed to be doing, and cvlean up when the house get's messy.

My son was a good baby. He'd wake up maybe 2-3 times a night but a simple diaper change and a bottle put him back to sleep.

Wait until the little fucker can walk and talk and has school and sports. This is the real struggle time.

Sounds like it was an unplanned pregnancy to me. If she was saying they wanted to stay childless before hand, that might not have changed, but once got pregnant they decided to keep it.

Not really. My wife and I want another because we want our son to have a sibling, someone closer to his age that he can rely on and confide in. And hopefully he'll take some responsibility in caring for his younger sibling and stop being so spoiled (the price of grandparents living in the same house). For most of my friends who have more than one child, that's usually how it turns out. Everything I've learned from those who were the only child (including my own mother) is that they are spoiled as hell but also lonely. We love our son enough that we'll go through the newborn baby hardship again. But more than two? Forget it.
