It was alright.

On its own, it tasted like burnt rice with a hint of something sour (probably the lime).

Paired surprisingly well with the pumpkin seeds, which I guess explains why they put them there in the first place.

Gross, I don't think I could do it with the eyes, chop the head off and and I could probably eat the body, but the head and eyes, nope, it's like the reason I can't eat shrimp.

are you supposed to dip them in ketchup or something? Or is that just the mandatory ketchup bottle at the restaurant, and speaking of which why do you have pre packaged foods at a restaurant?

I love shrimp, and I regularly eat whole fish with their heads still on so food staring back at me isn't a big problem. :P

Nah, this is in my apartment, and that's my ketchup bottle.

I don't think you're supposed to dip them in anything though. I think they're mostly eaten as a snack.

See I used to eat fish heads when I was younger, like when my dad brought home fish I would like eating the heads and stuff, I kinda think he suckered me into eating them so he could eat the rest lulz. It's not the staring part tho, I think I just can't really eat a bugs head, something about it just grosses me out, that's why I can't eat shrimp because of the bug head.

I got them at an organic store called MOM's Organic Market.

My mom wanted me to pick up some bread and I just happened to notice they were selling "protein alternatives" which basically meant insect based stuff.

They had stuff like grasshopper/cricket flour and cookies, mealworm spreads, and snack packets with whole bugs, which was what I bought.

If it makes you feel any better, they're really small so you don't really notice their heads when you eat them by the handful.
