I have a decent amount (above $50,000) saved up, but otherwise all I have is an IRA. I am thinking of getting more into investments.

Both my wife and I have pension plans through work and a private one. Our house will be paid off in our mid 40s (it's a four bedroom house - we're pretty much already at as a big a house as we'll ever need so wouldn't be significantly upgrading in a future move) and after that can continue to increase savings between then and retirement.

I don't plan on living past 50/60 so not much.

That being said I have a decent amount set out for those in my family who will outlive me.

Both my soon to be fianc and I are 30. I personally have a simple IRA with around $150k in it with other small investments totalling around $10k or so. My lady works in the FDA, so she'll have a good retirement package in place after about 20 years.

Just got out of college. Have a 401k I put about 4%of my income in and my company matches. On top of that, after 5 years here I start to get a pension. So, nothing big yet, but the foundation is there.

If everything remains on target I should have roughly 1 mil by 60...

I just hope that will be enough.

I severely over contributed this year. I need to withdraw so that the IRS boogyman doesn't get a critical hit on the penalty.

I manage a nice portfolio, but there's no way there will be such thing as retirement as we know it 50 years from now.

It's a bit complicated for me and ranges from low to high risk and low to high reward.

- I have a 401k with decent amount built up
- My wife just needs to work 5 more years in her job and she gets a guaranteed pension
- My laser tag business is in a building I purchased that I will have paid off in 7 years. With the improvements, that building could sell for $200k without the business, or projected $400k with the business and equipment if I needed to (or I can just keep the business and live off of profits)
- Currently planning on opening two more businesses- a daycare and a Chick-Fil-A. Again, looking at either selling those off or living off their profit later in life
- Possibility of franchising my laser tag business and sell franchise rights to other owners
- Also, I don't ever plan to retire. When I am done with my full time work, I plan to travel and do contract work from motivational speaking, to politics, to consulting.

nice

my retirement revolves around me inheriting my father in law's businesses and making bank off that.
