My apologies, I only saw the second one. Looking at the first, excluding the dark red and the dark green, he seems to be about average of 40-45% approval.

The first one is a bit confusing because it's not showing all of the states that dropped in approval. LA, for example, is green in the second, more red in the first, but it doesn't indicate approval has dropped. It's like that for many other states.

How are they the states that actually matter? The only one I mentioned that could qualify to you as "actually mattering" under my exclusion description would be California, with 55 electorates. NY is tied with Florida. Texas as 36. The remainder of the states indicating heavy red (according to the second map) have as much electorates as most other states, some even fewer.

You can't be angry that people are supporting the coal industry and people who support the coal industry (or any industry) when it benefits them and their families because you're "progressively thinking of the future."

Unless you spend all your life working on wind-farms and growing food for orphans that very argument is hypocritical.
