Bernie was too good... a corrupt system and people who lump every socialist idea in with Stalin simply ruined everything. I know based on my posting history it seems like I wouldnt have supported Bernie, but I really liked the guy. Hillary was a turd.

i didn't agree with things he said, and didn't think some of his plans would have worked. but I did feel he was the only one being honest about wanting to actually help. hes one of the only politicians ever to give me a sincere vibe.

Exactly. I didnt agree with him on everything, but he genuinely wanted what was best for Americans (of which Im not even) and that is what is needed right now.

I was honestly about to say I dont remember how old I was, before realizing it only requires basic math. I was 16 (edit, forgot to factor in the month).. weird. I always thought Id used this site much earlier, but I guess it was just reading FAQs before then. I had an aversion to all forms of social media until I was about 20 though... then the floodgates opened.

The point that needs to be made is that anyone contributing more than they take, logically, deserves the spot over some lazy third-gen welfare recipients that happened to be born on the right side of a line on a map. I know that's not how the law works, but it's not emotional either, it's pure pragmatism. I can see both sides of the debate, but everything is a means to an end, and if the end result is "person A works hard and improves the area they are located in", it's counter-productive to simply dismiss that, regardless of the means in which they found themselves there.

i mean i get that they came illegally but maybe that specific crime could have a statute of limitations or something because if someone's been here 20-30 years and never been arrested, have worked, bought a home/car, raised a family... why should they be deported for a crime they committed 30 years ago that never hurt anyone?

lots of crimes of statute of limitations. and just because a statute has ran doesn't mean you can't still deport someone for other crimes they committed while they're here. they are still illegal immigrants and not citizens so they could still be deported.
