my favorite part was the character quests which is also the part where the voice acting completely stopped and every dungeon in the game you had to complete a second time

I ended up not doing the character quests, but I liked the game anyway. Just not as much as other Tales of games. The roster of this one is... interesting.

Yeah I just youtube'd the character quests. I didn't like legendia much and the battle system was really boring to me, but it's a team wolf game I think, not a team symphonia so that's why. Of course I haven't played any of the new ones out of principle since vesperia never made it to the ps3 or ps4 in english.

and vesperia was the last great tales game. until berseria came out that is
berseria is good and that made me happy

Xillia 2 (and even Xillia 1) was a great game. I didn't like Zesteria too much.

Yeah that's the thing I actually really liked the characters and story, and personally I thought the voice acting was rather nice (shame they only did it for half the game)

But it's just the combat, the most vital element of a tales game, is really really unappealing. I did not have fun with it at all. Which is somewhat ironic since I think they handed over the design for the battle system to some professional fighting game developers.
