i kinda was as well, but i had a feeling what happened. or what nolan was trying to convey

this is the best read through i've seen which explains what happens. spoilers, obviously: https://www.empireonline.com/movies/features/interstellar-explained/

i really love films that i don't fully comprehend on the first watch...if that makes any sense

Luckily, I did not know Matt Damon was in it. As soon as he showed up (err, thawed out), I knew he'd betray them all and cause serious plot drama. He looks slightly unhinged in most of the things I see him in, like there's something off and just bubbling under the surface. Good casting choice.

Because it was a trash movie that had a massively stupid plot and ending. It tried too hard to hit DEM FEELS because that's all it had going for it, emotional manipulation.

what's your favourite sci-fi film?

i didn't think the plot was stupid or DEM FEELS at all. maybe it overreached which led the story to be overly dense. but that's the fun of rewatching films. that you learn and discover more about the film that you didn't catch on the first or second watch

funnily enough i'm not that much of a fan of inception. i found the story/plot of that to be more convoluted than interstellar and far less of an emotional impact

i kinda grasped the idea that he was in another dimension where he could move across time and that it was created by higher beings, probably future humans

the tesseract + communicating with TARS + being recovered on the new space station was wtf though. i don't fully comprehend it but i know what's happening, if that makes sense

It's portrayal of the black hole, while imaginative, was very unscientific. Mchonnay and Damon did a great job acting, but the script began to tie itself into a noose in the last 1/3 of the film

I need to pimp a downright phenomenal review of Interstellar that very thoroughly shows why it's an exceptional film while pointing out the critical short-coming of the film, not adequately explaining 4th and 5th dimensionality.

I absolutely love Interstellar, and honestly think it's my favorite sci-fi film that's been made since 2001: A Space Odyssey.

It's one of my favorite movies. I think what did it for me was the time dilation the black hole caused and them showing the effects. That scene with Cooper crying while watching his grown up kids was pretty heartbreaking. It was made more powerful because to him, just an hour ago, everything was fine in terms of time.

Yeah, that scene always gets to me. When Cooper sees his son trying to be strong and his (Cooper's) daughter's heart is breaking because of the guilt from their last moments and it seeming like he lied about coming back... damn, that's good drama.
