got damn, I did not expect Berserker to go down that fast. or for that little girl's eyes to get sliced out. this shit is brutal.

They don't really go that deep into her story in UBW but, after watching Fate/Zero... that scene is definitely depressing along with brutal.

bc tbh I don't know the extent of this franchise at all. I was browsing netflix and Aporypha looked neat so I put it on and then I started UBW.

I feel like I'm losing a lot of exposition. I've been trying to catch up on wiki pages but there's so much shit and different "paths" and I don't know how any of it relates to anything else.

Basically I'm just watching 'cause the animation and action sequences are really good.

also is there a real assassin? I thought they said that samurai guy was an "extra" or something because he was summoned by Caster so I thought there was a human master with the real assassin somewhere, but there's been no mention of one

Caster is the master of Assassin. She broke the rules by summoning Assassin and I don't think there ever is another assassin in UBW.

Actually yeah hardcore visual novels actually get adapted into less hardcore anime quite often

Well tbf, the eroge stuff is pretty minor and I'm pretty sure it's largely just the one scene you are watching right now. It's not like the VN is just straight up porn.

I think for now Zero should be watched first.

Once the Heavens Feel movie is released then the suggested order would be UBW->HF->Zero

No matter what you watch first you're gonna get spoiled

But Zero spoils a lot more crucial things than F/SN or UBW

That's why the proper order is Zero-> FSN/UBW-> Heaven's Feel

Idk why people treat Zero like it's the first in the series; it's a prequel that assumes you're familiar with some of the characters/world already

Zero doesn't assume anything about the watcher, that's why it frontloads a ton of exposition for better or worse. Meanwhile, Saber and Gil's characterization is very much based on how they acted in Zero, not in the VN.

As for spoilers, the only thing about FSN worth spoiling is Archer, and I bet TC already has an idea of what the deal is with him. Having Zero's ending spoiled is way worse.

When Zero first debuted I knew I wasn't the only one saying "watch the other one first" but I guess the series expanded enough to cover all areas

Still felt like Zero had spoilers that would only make F/SN seem worse if you watched that afterwards

It wasn't rubble that killed him tho. He got hit by a thousand arrows and exploded and it showed a crater with disintegrating servant putty in his place. Like he was as dead as you can get.

Generally the best method agreed upon for watching Fate/Stay Night is to read the VN for the first route then watch UWB. Or just skip it.

There's arguments about if you should watch Fate/Zero before UWB or the upcoming movie Heaven's Feel. As they spoil each other.

Yeah. I would argue that unless you're just watching the regular Fate Stay/Night, you should watch Fate/Zero first, since Alot of Kiritsugu's importance is covered in fate/zero and gives you a better understanding of the depth and purpose of what he did. Makes you feel more when watching UBW(anime, not the movie) lol

Zero was probably my favorite of the Fate series. I liked how the MC was completely ruthless and willing to do anything for what he believed to be the greater good

It's just Emiya is a unique case of not being a full mage and has limited mana compared to the other mages in the fight.

Tho having seen UBW first, some of these characters have lost some impact.

Like Gil being a pushover bitch when he actually has to get his hands dirty. And Kotemine getting wrecked so quickly in UBW 5 minutes after being revealed. Kinda hard to take them seriously now

Einzberns have a private mansion at the end of a vast forest outside Fuyuki. It takes about 3 hours to get from Fuyuki to the einzberns mansion. And they have a boundary over the entire forest so anyone steps on a blade of grass near the forest, and they can see you.
