The direction the industry is heading in, from 4 year console cycles, to loot boxes/microtransactions becoming so intrusive, to single player games slowly dying off. I think this will be it for me, imo.

Exactly. This is what frustrates me more. Not that these games are so successful. But that there are so many good games with feature none of this that aren't. There are more games than ever to play.

fantastic games coming out all the time, micro transactions have only stunk up a small portion of games

Also what's this about 4 year cycles? PS3 and 360 lasted forever, hell PS3 just ceased production this year. Wii U was the obvious exception due to its miserable sales.

But then I got a 3DS in 2015. And then the Switch dropped. And then I started buying indies.

Honestly, this is kind of a gaming golden age. There is a ton of quality gaming to be had. And it's easier than ever to find good shit (hell, you're already on GameFAQs, so the hard part is over)

i think i said that the last 3 gens but still here ha. I agree games are a letdown and so much more expected from the industry, money greed etc, but they are still fun.

The same passion isn't there from gamers either and it's noticeable all over youtube. More people trying to sell stuff themselves who can't even pronounce the names of games or just obnoxious stuff.

Gaming isn't what it used to be or how i envisioned what was possible but once i've learned to tone that stuff out and people too that play games nowadays i still enjoy them. I'm not even a nitpicker for grammar. I get people trying to do different things. It's more the lies and abusive people and people selling lies. Gaming is full of a lot of messed up stuff these days.

If i quit its usually im just bored of playing games or have better things to do which is healthy really. Too much drama and hype in gaming these days too.

Yeah forreal. I play pretty much anything, and I've been absolutely swamped with games since summer last year. For like a 6 month span there were good games coming out pretty much monthly

Maybe you should stop looking at AAA games.
