Have you played all three Trails in the Sky games? The Third may or may not let you down because it is a dungeon crawler, but at least there is a turbo button to help with the grind. Also, the first two Cold Steel games are out on PS3 and I'm not aware of any significant difference between the PS3 and PC versions. I feel you on the Crossbell games though. They must come as soon as possible.

Considering that Ao and Zero are pretty important to the overall narrative of the Zemuria games, I hope they actually bring them over here. >_>

ideally, it start with trails in the sky first chapter,

it is divided into "arcs" in correspondence of their region in the world and they're fairly separate. you can begin, technically at every first game of each arcs. the ones that's available in english now are sky arc (liberl) and and cold steel arc (erebonia)

so starting with cold steel 1 is feasible, but not ideal .

think of it like marvel movies. you can start with any of the first ones most of the time, but if you start at thor: ragnarok you will be very confused. you can watch thor 1 -3 the start at ironman 1, you won't be that much confused, but you will miss some of the references/in-jokes and continuation nods that require all prior knowledge of the series.

the only exciting battles are tbh the bosses.

regular encounter are too easy to pay mind to. bosses are pretty interesting, especially in higher difficulty that you have to maximize your orbments and equipment into the characters, think positioning and alot of micromanagement.

the combat system shine when the enemies are difficult and my favorite is
the imaginary optional boss fithing cassius bright and loewe together in 3rd chapter.

but the gripe pretty much exist and apply for most JRPG because the random encounters are really just exp/money grinding machines.

I'd have to install the game to check, but I believe the turbo button they added for TC was put in the first two games too. You might want to try again.

Still no update on geofront's page, but at least superzerker's twitter is active and have lots of mini update.

Wish they update the percentage tho :/
