Is there? Demand went up for open world games and this is what we got. Im not arguing that theres a ton of open world games but they are selling. The market balances with thime.

And Vita gets JRPGs pretty much every other week, which are often ported to PS4/PC

I like balance. I don't mind an open world, but I can't play more than one in a certain amount of time. I get open world burnout quickly.

Still, I do wish for a bit more well crafted linear games that don't rely on open world to give the illusion of being longer than it actually is.

Last gen it was FPS, the N64 gen was collectatons. We'll see some new fad eventually.

I wont hardly buy a game unless its open world. I think every single game Ive bought in the last 10 years, with the exception of Overwatch, has been open world.
