How. If you use USD at all you are paying taxes to the US (inflation tax) and supporting the war machine with your acceptance of the fiat value they enforce. And the global economy with the IMF and such means that any currency you use will come back to support USD and war.

Even bitcoin is highly invested by the US and FBI and such so that helps them too. It's literally impossible to live in society and not support the tax/war machine.

The evidence shows her consistently soliciting sex and affection from multiple band members. Many sources have confirmed this.

Lacey's vague apology makes complete sense now, especially if he's preparing litigation.

It's funny because when I read the apology I, like others, noticed that he never mentioned her by name. I didn't take this as a slight to her though, I assumed that it wouldn't make much sense to direct the apology to her when he's probably done similar things to countless others he couldn't possibly name at this point.

It's not really my place to comment on whether anything happened with her, but I'm sure he's done similar things to someone and I do think it's good that he came out and apologized for it.

In other news... they canceled the rest of their UK gigs. Not a good sign since they never had a chance to announce the rest of the NA gigs for the final tour. I'm honestly assuming the worst right now and feeling pretty low.

How many allegations have there been against Jesse so far? 1 or 2? I found that fightoffyourdemons subreddit and it does seem very possible that all this may not have happened when the girl said it did, or reasonable that Jesse didn't know the age.

I understand it may not be fair to try to dig into this girl's story and her personal life. But I think with the Court of Public Opinion, if you're going to cast judgement you should try to be informed as possible. And if you're going to say something to ruin someone's life, make sure you have all of your ducks in a row. I personally prefer to NOT cast judgement at all since I'm in no position to do so. I'll just sit back and see how this all plays out.

If it turns out Junichi Masuda is a neo-nazi and murdered people in his teens I will still play new and old Pokemon games because I like the product itself and don't give a shit about the people behind it

If it turns out Bryan Cranston is a pedophile, I will still consider him a great actor and will still think highly of Breaking Bad and watch it again

What can I do..I prefer enjoying the media itself, instead of caring about what people do and act like out of their job

The second accusation was made by a girl named Emily Driskell, who had a known consensual relationship with Jesse for a number of years. After it ended, she continued to profit off the band by selling photo books of them. She also leaked nude pictures of Jesse to a revenge porn site. Like I said, if there was any misconduct there it was from her.

I'm not saying Jesse Lacey is a good person, he's clearly got his demons (that he ironically appears to have fought off).

But what this Nicole Garey person has done was attempt to label him as a rapist and a pedophile. And because of the fucked up climate we live in, it worked without her having to provide any proof of the claims.

Look, if he did what she's claimed, he is trash and he deserves not just to have his career ruined but he deserves to be put in jail.

But if she has lied about any of this, she deserves jail time too.

The questions I've been trying to grapple with, as people whose work I admire(d) have been accused are, primarily:

1) Is any apology ever going to be sincere enough, contrite enough, remorseful enough, to be publicly acceptable?

2) Is it possible for any of these men to have a shot at redemption? If so, how? When?

I think the answer to both primary questions is yes, in theory, with a lot of caveats.

Obviously, we have to look at things case by case. Weinstein, the answer is clearly no. Spacey, the answer is clearly no. Louis CK? George Takei? Franken? Those cases are less definitive. I think if we are insistent that anyone who is accused and found to be guilty, either by preponderance of evidence or by admission, is beyond redemption, then we as a society, as a culture, risk losing even more of our humanity. We have to believe most people are capable of change, but it's also up to them to prove it.
