And I'm not referring to movies that use celebrities for voices and thus give the character traits of that celebrity but seasoned voice actors who have characters that have some traits of them.

Is there a specific reason or is it kind of an easter egg?

It's been happening forever

Voices come first, so they often model the face to look like the actor because they study the mouth movements for certain inflections and stuff.

Then so etimes because it's fun i guess.

A lot of voice acting these days also implement motion capture, guessing the familiar faces helps that process.
