Biggest examples being Animal Crossing. Weeds will grow, villagers will become upset etc, if you neglect your game.

I like to play rather than feel obligated. I'll have to pass on real time reaction if it punishes you. Seasonal stuff or weather is cool, though.

Heh. I had AC in high school, didn't play all of junior year, booted it up sometime in senior, and that stupod mole guy freaked out on me for not havung shut down the game properly over a year. Silly game.

I think the coolest use of this was in MGS3, where The End dies of old age if you save the game during his fight and advance the clock a certain amount of time. That boss in particular featured so many great details.

Metal gear solid 3 does it awesome as well
