Was just listening to Supa Ugly on YouTube and all the comments are saying that Nas destroyed Jay, which isn't the case at all. Jay killed him at every level. Why is Ether'ed something someone says? Sure, Ether is the best thing Nas put out against Hov, but it's like the only notable thing. Jay just kept killing him over and over again.

And he's still on top of the world

Business has nothing to do with it, Nas just didn't put out good albums or songs. It took Hov to wake him up after 7 years of disappointing albums. Stillmatic was great, yeah, but he's done jack shit since then. Nas, IMO, simply isn't as good as Jay. I think Nas' best songs are better than Jay's best songs, but Nas only has like 5 great songs, and two really good albums.

It's just personal taste when it comes to music, but there is nothing personal about who's still at the head of the rap game. I mean even 4:44 was a really good album, IMO

I mostly agree with that, Nas had higher highs but I liked more of Jay-Z songs overall than Nas so it's a case where I'll take quantity.

I think that whole beef had some of the best diss songs, but not because of content for flow. There was just so many of them and they were all nasty and personal. I loved it! There is a whole playlist on Spotify with just the songs between Game, 50, G-Unit and whoever else that wanted to take shots at people

Nas is like the polar opposite of Jay-Z in that Jay-Z has always been the "loud" and "extravagant" one with more mainstream appeal.

Nas is the more humble and quiet one and usually tries to avoid the spotlight.

Ether is still seen as the GOAT or the second best rap diss ever after Hit Em Up.

But Jay-Z pretty much always been more relevant other then Illmatic, which is considered to be one of the best if not the best Hip-Hop albums ever. But that was back in 1994, Jay-Z has pretty much consistently been more relevant than Nas since then.
