Because it's such a ripoff. I pay $177 a month now and I don't even get every channel. Comcast doesn't allow any other cable companies to operate in my area.

Because why would we pay shitloads of money for the 2% of content we actually want to see?

the value proposition just isn't there anymore. my cable was like $90 a month. I already had prime for shipping, Netflix and hulu are a lot less and give me nearly all the content I want.

Pretty much. I can live with commercials for the most part, but I only watch about 5-6 channels.... the fuck do I need all these other things for. I just haven't found a streaming service that has the 5-6 channels I watch yet. :/

I had a nice 5-6 month run of using free 10 day trials.

But its a combination of a few things. Parents always paid for it so they freak out when they have to pay for it. Commercials and ads are looked at as the worst thing in the history of man so they have to avoid those. Attention spans are pathetic now. And everything can easily be watched for free and people now love free stuff.

You're right, it's way better that way because if you need to get up for something you don't have to decide between waiting until it goes to commercial or missing it. You can just stop it whenever, take as much time as you need, and not have to worry about missing anything.

I don't like paying 100 bucks to watch the same movies over and over again. Plus, there's like 5 minutes of commercials every 10 minutes just to watch a single movie. A 1 hour and 20 minute movie turns into 2 hours and 30 minutes because of commercials. It's a waste of time. I can just go on Netflix or Hulu and watch at my own convenience without ad interruptions.

Literally nothing good on it and commercials out the ass.

You'd be surprised. My parents are paying $162/month. My grandmother got suckered into a high-price package that she never uses at all and is paying something like $220/month for it.

If you get the triple play packages that a lot of cable companies are pushing at your face, it can go up to $200's a month.
