I think Soul Calibur IV was the last game I created characters in. I made female versions of all the male fighting style characters. I didn't do all males characters for the female fighting styles. So take that how you will.

here's an example the dude's set is much bulkier with the huge shoulders I prefer the females. And even in games that use clothes instead of armour I tend to find the female clothes better looking.

Typically male, but I know someone who prefers to play as females because they have smaller hitboxes.

I play whichever character gives me the most functional advantage (whether it's hit boxes, stats, wearable equipment, etc..)

Assuming both male and female are 100% equal in terms of gameplay, then I will go male if the game is known for having a decent to good romance.

Finally if none of the above applies, I just make a female.

Depends. I usually play as male but when there are games that you can play through twice (like games that have a good and an evil playthrough) I do a playthrough with both

Sure but unlike the male armor, you're getting female armor with dresses and skirts and other pretty feminine aesthetics.

So being slightly bulky > being a pretty princess.

What a creepy criteria. You play as something similar to yourself for better immersion. Not so you can rub one out to your avatar mid-game. Its like some of you cant control yourselves or just refuse to do so.

Depends on the character. For casters I tend to like slimmer builds, and if the default male is just pure bulk like in WoW, I tend to make casters female.

I disagree as I like the pretty asthetic. Also in pokemon x/y females could have suits and cooler hats than anything guys got imo.

If just one character slot, then male. Exceptions would be Skyrim and Dragons Dogma where I beat the game with a male character and then switched, or Mass Effect because FemShep rules

Otherwise it's usually a 50/50 split on male and female characters for multiple character slots

1st play through is always a male character for me. 2nd playthrough are always my female character playthrough though. Everything after that (if I even play through the game again after the 2nd) is whatever I feel like playing at the time.

I'll admit, it's for sexualized reasons, and I don't give a shit if people give me shit for it.
