It has nothing to do with perversion and if you see so many topics about trans people by now you should know enough about it to realise that.

Anyway, the internet is a lot more popular but still functions as a haven for all the oddballs that don't conform to the norms of society, so it's not surprising that small minorities can feel over-represented on forums.

Because it's a hot political issue, and the users on those social media platforms are older and more politically aware. It's also a strongly divisive political issue, in that you're either sympathetic towards them or you're not. Even apathetically maintaining the status quo is now a political decision. So everyone has an opinion.
