Decided to drive to the other target I used to work at back in 2010 and decided to see if anything's changed plus pick up a few things and holy fuck.... my coworkers are STILL HERE. These are the same people that said they were either going back to college or find another higher paying job.... that was in 2010.

Amazing what happens when life happens and you'd rather have a stable job instead of shooting for something higher. We all have dreams and plans that don't end up being realised for one reason or another.

Same here. I work for a company that is a vendor of my old employer. We were super short staffed last week so I took a delivery over there. There is people still there 10 years later. Its mindblowing to me that in 10 years I went from there making $11 an hour to my current job salaried at $58k a year... and people are still there MAYBE making $13 an hour now. Some people just never progress in their life and simply seem to exist day after day

I'm sorry, but retail or fast food jobs are meant for college or high school students or people here for the short term like a few years. There are blue collar jobs that pay much more for a stable income and only requires a high school degree such as being a UPS driver or trash collector.

I know right? You'd think every retail or fast food worker would just instantly switch over to one of those professions since it's that easy.
