As opposed to who Hillary lol?

I mean he endorsed her, and outta any lefty candidate she did stand the best chance of winning.

Sanders and Johnson have nothing in common though.

Sanders to Stein I could make sense of even though the woman is a fucking moron.

Sanders to Johnson is just stupid

I voted for Johnson as a second choice as well. Someone shared a site before the democrat primaries ended that had the five main candidates and their opinions and goals for what was considered important topics to many Americans.

Sanders had a higher percentage matched with my views, and Johnson was second. Then it went Clinton, Stein, then Trump last. After reading a little more on Johnson, he seemed like the best out of the remaining four, but he doesn't seem to have a strong presence like Clinton and Trump which could have gotten him a little farther imo.

The defense of "Well he's a boorish idiot so I can act like one too!" doesn't hold any water, by the way.

why is that

Because calling someone out for behavior you exhibit yourself is hypocritical, that's why. It's not a difficult concept.

Respect is earned. You can be respectful to respectful people, while being disrespectful to disrespectful people, and not be a hypocrite.

Treat others how you want to be treated. It's not a difficult concept.

I'm not talking about respecting the man, I'm talking about respecting the office itself. That has gone by the wayside and it's sad to me. He is not exempt from this disdain either, I wish he would respect the office he holds a lot more as well so it's not just Twitter Warriors I find distasteful.

People get extremely emotional about how the state of thing are handled and react in extreme ways, usually to call out attention for policies they disagree with or purely out of the emotions towards the facts -or sometimes lies- that they have been handed. Many other join in this emotional bandwagon to display their rage.

Kind of hard to respect the office when the person in it isn't respectable.

Trump was a crass piece of shit before he was president. The position doesn't elevate him from that, he denigrates the position.

I can count the number of good presidents we've had on one hand, maybe two if I'm hammered. The rest? Shit. Nothing about the position was ever sacred; you were just conditioned to believe that.

I don't think there's anything sacred about the position but even considering that, Trump has taken it to a whole new low. Voting Trump into office is one of the biggest embarrassments in this country's history.

Because this is not a nice person we're talking about here. He's not some misunderstood man who's trying to do his best to help the country. He's a legitimate piece of shit who doesn't care about anyone except himself.
