I did my own FFX topic a while back and did a pretty minimalistic playthrough with just a little bit of extra grinding

I want to get the remake at some point, mainly for the dark aeons. Never had a chance to go against them, as I just had the regular North American version. Sounds like you're doing well though!!

I just beat Bahamut

took about 3 tries

the first two I would lose immediately after he would use Impulse

I thought it was random but apparently its after you hit him like 3 or so times

the third time, partially inspired by my Magus Sisters strategy, I was planning on hitting him a few times, then have an Aeon hit him to tank the impulse, and then have them use their OD

but I noticed that Countering him does NOT trigger Impulse

so the strategy changed

I had Auron, Wakka, And Tidus hold up with Protect, Haste, and Auto Life and just tank hits and counter him

once he had enough for his Mega Flare, I would bring in Yuna and sacrifice an Aeon

once that happens, I sideline her and just have them tank again, healing when necessary

eventually he died from being countered to Death

Since I'm nearing the end of the game, I'm nostalgically taking a look around some of the towns (Do yall do this?)

and in Luca, I found the theater again. I bought all of the spheres and stuff and just rewatched all of the cutscenes. Reminding myself why I'm here. (not for the grinding stuff)

I have Shiva, Yojimba, and I'm assuming Anima, since I fought the Magus Sisters, left to go

....I have NO idea where you would find these guys

They must be out of the way. All of the others were right in the middle of roads and crap

I'm gonna see if Shiva is at Macarena since its a snow place. Is it racist of me to assume that?

Shiva and Yojimbo are where you might expect them.
Anima basically requires a guide to find. You have to repeat the lame minigames in Gagazet Cave. Then she'll spawn at the Ronso camp in Mt Gagazet.

Gagazet left a bad taste in my mouth for some reason. It was just super dull, the monster hunting was boring, and I just wanted to get to Zanarkand at that point

I would have NEVER considered going in there again

This always annoyed me too but it does give the city a regal/exclusive/mysterious kind of feel. I think it's intentional because they don't even show the city in X2.

I went to Beville and isaaru's brothers were there

they said that Maester Mika died.

so what..did he just come back and drop dead in front of everyone? Last we saw, he just fucked off from this world and nobody saw it

they revealed that Isaaru is not protecting the temple, so the bros are just hanging out

the Old Guado guy is lamenting how Jyskal is dead and he looks forward to seeing him again in the Farplane

Lulu also finally sees her former Summoner in the Farplane. so she got her closure. She said she hopes to return with good news

I ran to the Macarena forest and I found a spot where there were two guado ladies

one of them reveals that Seymour was behind the fiends that attacked the stadium when we were playin the Luca Goers.

Honestly, I never thought about there being a reason why the monsters attacked. It just happened.

She said Seymour did it so the people of Spira can look to the Guados for hope.

She also reveals a whole bunch of other things

Seriously, I've talked to her like 6 times in a row now and shes said something new each time!

She also revealed that her granddaughter's brother was one of Seymour's goons and he never returned from the invasion at Home

probably wouldn't be that hard to go to the Farplane and check if he's there or not after nobody could find him and the dude's old enough that I'm sure they all think he could drop dead anytime so it'd be the first thought

there IS a water element in the game, and his Dark version could've been fought in the Blitzball stadium in the water

how awesome would that have been?
