It's really well done. I think it's one of the best produced and shot shows, especially if you're talking about shows on non-premium cable channels.

But plot-wise, hell no. Not even close. After Walter White gets offered to have all his health insurance costs paid by that couple that he used to work with, the whole plot-line falls apart, since, at that point, any reasonable person would walk away from all the illegal BS he had gotten involved in and accept the free help.

Outside of that issue, the last season was all over the place. The last two episodes were very badass though regardless of the problems.

I'd put Sopranos, The Wire, Oz, Mad Men, and Narcos (so far) in my top 5.

And Better Call Saul has so far been a lot better about believable storyline than Breaking Bad. I think it'll end up being the better show but probably not as renowned simply because of the main character/plot.

Pretty sure the point was that Walt turned out to not be a reasonable person. He craved the thrill of being a criminal

This. I also really appreciated the casting done on the show. Even the bit actors with the most insignificant roles that only appeared in one episode did an exceptional job.

I still hold it in a pretty high regard to this day (top five for me for sure) although I accept and recognize your criticisms of the writing as valid. It did have its problems/aspects of it that were a bit nonsensical.

Still, a lot of "holy shit" moments for me in the show like when Hank is just casually using the bathroom in the White's house at a family get-together and he finds the Walt Whitman book Gale gave to Walt and makes the connection. The way it comes together after everything that happened and his reaction, etc.. almost spine-tingling imo.
