I've read these of his:

It
Carrie
Salem's Lot
Misery
The Shining
Thinner

They were all very good, some of them I don't remember a lot about because I read them several years ago. "It" is my favorite so far, but I'd recommend all of them. Carrie was his first book so might be a good start. Slightly different from the movie

And I'm like 60% through The Stand, which is also very good IMO

I've read nearly all of King's novels. I'd HIGHLY suggest The Long Walk and Rage. Also, Needful Things, The Hodge's Trilogy (Mr. Mercedes) and the first 5 Dark Tower books are good along with Eyes of the Dragon. Also, 11/22/63 is awesome!

The dark tower starts getting REALLY good in the second book, The Drawing of the Three. My favorite is book four, Wizard and Glass (since it's the backstory). But books six and seven you could tell were just lazily rushed together to finish it up. I think Dark Tower, in general, is insanely overrated due to the fact that King labels it his "magnum opus", which, IMO it definitely is NOT! Although I did enjoy it.

i don't think king cares if you don't agree with him

if he says it's his magnum opus, it's his magnum opus

I'm currently reading the uncut version of The Stand and I struggled a few times during the first half of the book. It's full-bore interesting now.

The Green Mile is great, I enjoyed it from practically page 1.

Yeah currently reading that myself. It's definitely a quick read. It took me about a month. Pet Semetary I know I'll finish with the week.

Youre missing the point if you think the books are the magnum opus. Considering what The Dark Tower is. Completing the story, and having his literal reality defined is the magnum opus.

Also book 4 is long winded and booooorring. It could be 1/3rd as long and get the same information across.

Albeit 6 and 7 are both long winded, at least more than teenage sex happens.

To each their own.

Im also of the minority of actually liking the True ending.

What do you mean about true ending?

From a Buick 8, easily the best King book I had read in years.

It seems to be a "love it or hate it" book among critics, however. I really enjoyed it.

Misery, if you haven't already read it, read it!

Yeah I just finished it a couple weeks ago.

True ending being the last chapter of the book where King babbles on about what happened before telling the rest of the story and where the phrase ka is a wheel is enforced?

I would say
1. The shining
2. Dr. Sleep

It's one of his classics, along side it's little known sequel written more recently.

It's a mix of his old stuff and new stuff, and it's a good little series.
